Agreement of responsible use of the University of Gothenburg's (GU's) IT facilities


General rules

The University of Gothenburg's IT facilities are owned by the University and are intended to be used in and for the University's function of providing education, research and administration in that connection, as well as for cooperation with the surrounding society. The facilities may not be used for purposes through which the name, prestige and good reputation of the University may be damaged.

The IT facilities may not be used in contravention of current legislation or the University's regulations.

Authorised user
An authorised user is a user to whom the University has allocated access rights. The authorised user must be particulary aware that

Consequences and actions if the regulations are violated
Use of the University's IT facilities is continually monitored through logging and other technical measures.

Any violation of these regulations may result in comlete or partial suspension from the University's IT facilities. The decision will be taken by head of department/equivalent for the area in question. In serious cases the technical manager may close down a mismanaged or misused IT facility with immediate effect.

Any violation of these regulations may also lead to disciplinary and/or criminal proceedings.

Agreement
I hereby undertake to comply with the "Regulations for use of the University of Gothenburg's IT facilities". I am aware that any violation of these regulations may result in the loss of my authorisation to use the University's IT facilities, and to disciplinary and/or legal proceedings being brought against me.
